Double Entry Task Tracking
One thing I've worked on when developing my task tracking system is the notion of double entry task tracking, which treats tasks as if they were credits and debits in a double entry accounting system. This leads you to the following conclusions:
- A blocker is simply a task for someone else to complete
- Tasks never get created out of the aether; they always come from somewhere.
- Todos are liabilities
One thing I'm not super happy with is how I handle ongoing work; I just end up with this big ball of open tasks that just sit there. I think what I actually need is a literal task audit log?
